A Journey Through Color, Chaos, and Curiosity

A reflection on Universal Ganesha by Roshni Ali, an artist from Goa—an exploration of myth, material, and meaning. Created during a time of global unrest, the painting draws from the Mahabharata to question how greed shapes our choices, distorts wisdom, and quietly leads to conflict, while inviting a deeper understanding of abundance, balance, and awareness.

In February 2026, I had the chance to experience this lively celebration from a unique vantage point—a friend's Airbnb balcony overlooking the parade route. What unfolded was a whirlwind of colors, sounds, and emotions that left a lasting impression. Every element was hand-drawn. No AI shortcuts — just paint, paper, and patience. Creating this piece made me feel like I was part of the carnival, too. An observer. Quietly noticing. Transmuting energy into an image.

Visiting the Hoysala temples, Hampi, Mahabalipuram, and Ellora, I was struck by the grandeur of our heritage and the powerful myths behind each site. These myths reveal sacred archetypes—universal symbols and characters that explore the nature of reality. Returning to Goa, I noticed these archetypes reflected in the vibrant contemporary music scene.

The art series Big City Lies exposes these uncomfortable truths through satire and surreal imagery, inviting viewers to rethink what development really means and who bears its cost.

Rooted in childhood fascination and ancient myth, this series revisits the gods, symbols, and stories of Ancient Egypt through a contemporary lens. Blending hand-drawn techniques with intuitive storytelling, the works explore themes of wisdom, power, chaos, and rebirth—inviting viewers to reconnect with a sense of awe for the unseen forces that have shaped human imagination across time.

What started as a painting transformed into the seed for Earth Tribe, a music project born from the dialogue between art and sound.
